Scalable productivity — A solution for very fast warehouse inventorying
From design to coding, integrating with existing systems and deploying to the cloud. I did it all and am very proud of the result.
Summary
The goal of this project was to make a high productivity app for mobile inventory data entry.
Design decisions were made to maintain a high data density along with accessible controls to increase worker productivity
I built this app side-by-side with warehouse workers to collect fast and useful feedback. Following the Agile principles.
The end result was really business-transforming. We increased inventory accuracy by more than 50% and inventory data collection speed by more than three-fold.
From design to coding, integrating with existing systems and deploying to the cloud. I did it all and am very proud of the result.
Challenges
- Provide instant search to the 10.000 more products offered by the company while highlighting relevant marches. All flicker-free
- Create accessible high-speed data entry forms
- Allow for any number of workers to participate in the same inventory
- Integrate with the company's warehouse management system
- Provide support for barcode scanning hardware
- Get productive on UI/UX design tools such as InDesign and Sketch to deliver a precise and well-thought solution.
